10 Best Places to Retire in GA

Winners Will Be Announced in the Fall/Winter 2007 Issue of Retire in Georgia Magazine, Available in September

ATLANTA Retire in Georgia magazine, a publication of Georgia Lifestyles Publishing, Inc., announces the finalists for its first annual listing of The 10 Best Places to Retire in Georgia. Winners will be featured in the Fall/Winter 2007 issue of Retire in Georgia magazine, which will be available in September.

Selection criteria are based on a survey of academic studies, industry experts, and models from other states active in retiree attraction. The competition was announced in May, and nominations were solicited directly from chambers of commerce and county commissions throughout Georgia. Finalists and winners are selected by the Retire in Georgia editorial staff.

Selection criteria includes:

  • State parks, local parks, etc.
  • Lodging and hospitality amenities
  • Cost of living
  • Healthcare infrastructure
  • Housing
  • Population dynamics
  • Community commitment
  • Lifelong learning opportunities
