The Lena Baker Story was the featured film at the 2008 Annual Atlanta Film Festival and screened at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. The film was shot in different locations in Early County and the Jokara-Micheaux Film/Television/Music Production Studio in Colquitt, GA.

Movie created with local talent. Written, directed and produced by Southwest Georgia Film Commissioner Ralph Wilcox, Miller County, co-written by Dr. Lela Phillips and produced by Early County 2055 Executive Director Barton Rice, Charles B. Rice and Laughing Crow Entertainment, Inc., The Lena Baker Story exemplifies how the film industry businesses are finding this area ripe with opportunity.  

The Lena Baker Story, is a movie that follows the life, trial and execution of Lena Baker, the first and only woman to be executed in Georgia's electric chair. The movie explores the issues behind her trial and conviction.

Dismal
Dismal, produced by Fearmakers, Inc.,  of North Carolina, was filmed in Early County and released in July 2009 via On Demand through Time Warner and Charter Cable. It was released on DVD in the U.S. on Dec. 2010. It was also released in Germany as "Bleed" in Sept. 2009.  

Savage
Savage, produced by Fearmakers, Inc., an independent motion picture production company in North Carolina, has DVD distribution deals in place for the U.S. and UK and expects to be released late 2011. Savage was filmed in Early County.
